The Pilz Education Systems (PES)

Pilz Education Systems (PES) are modular training and learning systems with modern components used in industry. They have various safety and automation functions, which are clearly arranged on boards. The learning systems can be used for practical training in electrical engineering at vocational colleges and universities, for example.

The learning systems allow electrical engineering students to learn to program controllers, implement safety functions for machines and learn about general automation functions.

Learning systems for knowledge transfer in the field of safe automation

The learning systems are an optimum knowledge transfer tool for trainees, apprentices and students and maximise the practical relevance of the training. The systems are also increasingly used for in-house adult education, e.g. training.

The training and learning systems teach:

  • Implementation and application of the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC and Machinery Regulation 2023/1230
  • Requirements of safety functions on plant and machinery in accordance with EN ISO 13849-1.
  • Basics of automation

Potential applications in schools and universities

  • Simulation modules for practical training in many fields of mechanical engineering.
  • Machine safety and automation functions are commissioned and configured directly on the system
  • Use either in the lab or in training rooms
  • Modular expansion and simple exchange of individual modules
  • Includes exercises, technical documentation and background information in English and German

One sensor, logic and actuator module each from the product range below is required to guarantee a full machine simulation. A number of expansion modules are available for each board.

Information as to which expansion modules can be combined with each of the boards is included with the respective board.

Combination options for fast learning process

The PES boards can be combined in various ways; you are free to decide which sensor boards and which logic and actuator boards to link.

These boards allow you to create a complete plant model, containing both automation and safety functions.
