At InnoTrans (22–25 September 2026), in Hall 27, Stand 550, the automation company Pilz will be demonstrating how safe, modular control solutions contribute to the modernisation of signalling technology and railway infrastructure. The focus is on applications that Pilz has implemented successfully in practice in collaboration with customers and partners worldwide. Using models of completed applications, Pilz will illustrate how digitisation can be implemented efficiently and safely in railway infrastructure.

Safe digitisation of the railway: Pilz showcases tried-and-tested applications at InnoTrans
Content at a glance:
- Pilz is exhibiting at InnoTrans 2026 in Hall 27, Stand 550
- In focus: Successful digitisation of railway infrastructure using safe, modular control solutions
- Railway control system PSSrail already in use worldwide on 1,000 kilometres of track and on more than 500 level crossings
The safe, modular PSSrail railway control system PSSrail provides system suppliers and integrators with a high-performance solution that is already in use worldwide on over 1,000 kilometres of track and on more than 500 level crossings. The railway control system is certified to SIL 4 and is EULYNX-compatible. Thanks to its modular design, it enables flexible implementation across a wide range of applications – at the same time offering low lifecycle costs and enhanced operational safety.
Open platform for a wide range of applications
Using clear models, at InnoTrans Pilz will demonstrate how safe, modular control solutions can be integrated into both existing and new infrastructures. One key focus area is safe data transmission solutions, which guarantee seamless, reliable communication. Among other things, the exhibition will showcase solutions based on Frauscher Safe Ethernet (FSE), which support the safe networking of components along the track. Pilz will also be showcasing applications for level crossings – ranging from monitoring to full control – as well as the use of PSSrail as a EULYNX Object Controller to control field elements along the track.
Visitors will gain a concrete insight into the implementation of real projects and the platform’s performance in day-to-day operations.
