Purpose

The Industrial Safety Trainer position is to promote and deliver the full range of training courses offered by the company. The appointed person will be expected to manage & deliver all aspects of the entire range of the Pilz training portfolio.
This includes course inception & the sales process, administration, delivery and follow-up of all training courses. The role also requires ensuring that all relevant internal staff have the required levels of knowledge on machinery safety and Pilz products for their positions. You will be an Ambassador of Safety.

Duties & Responsibilities

The duties & responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for the full technical training portfolio (internal and external) in all aspects of machinery safety and Pilz product portfolio including planning, coordination, website updates, delivery of training courses, development of new training courses, release of new international courses.
  • Liaise with the National Services Manager to organise consultants to conduct training where required.
  • Perform safety consulting and engineering services to include risk assessment, machine safety evaluation, safety validation, LOTO services and CE marking.
  • Mentor the graduate engineers in line with the graduate program.
  • Liaise with internal & external customers about the training courses provided by the group. Produce proposals (and internal costings) for in-house training courses which are within the capability of the group.
  • Prepare, review and authorise technical reports (to the various accreditation levels as required).
  • Ensure all appropriate sales & customer data is collected and maintained in a centralised repository.
  • Ensure a safe work environment is created and all team members comply with company policies, OH&S guidelines, code of conduct & ethical practices.
  • Other duties and travel as directed.

Skills & Experience

  • Degree-qualified engineer with experience in functional safety and machinery safety (AS 4024 etc.)
  • Experienced with delivering training to a variety of stakeholders.
  • Customer focused and a can-do attitude with regards to delivering results. Self-motivated, team orientated, and results driven. Demonstrates accountability & responsibility for outcomes.
  • Develops respectful relationships, with the ability to build trust & rapport with peers & customers.
  • Technical decision maker able to read, analyse, and interpret technical issues / directives & effectively present information and respond to questions.
  • A proven ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing, to both technical and non-technical people. Presentation skills – preparing and delivery - is a key responsibility of this role.
