The Senior Safety Consultant position works closely with the National Services Manager to lead the promotion and delivery the full range of Safety Services offered by Pilz. The appointed person will have the capability to manage & deliver all aspects of the entire range of the Pilz portfolio of services, including consulting, training and engineering. This includes project inception & the sales process, to the risk assessments, conceptual design stages and implementation, all the way through to final validation and production of associated technical documentation. You will be an Ambassador of Safety, mentoring and coaching others as required.

The duties & responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to;

• Performs safety consulting services including risk assessment, machine safety assessment, safety validation, security in automation, LOTO services and CE marking.
• Performs engineering services including safe system design, AutoCAD/ePlan drafting, programming, installation, functional testing & commissioning both in FAT and SAT phases.
• Promote and deliver the Pilz customer training portfolio. Be able to localise global content where applicable - must know local legislation and standards (AS4024).
• Mentoring Safety Consultants and Graduate Engineers (facilitate job shadowing, peer reviews of reports, internal training for services and sales teams on Services Portfolio). Provide expert advice and guidance to that group to encourage them to achieve a strong safety culture.
• Take a lead role in liaising with Sales, with direct relationships established and maintained with key Pilz customers. Using excellent consulting skills, negotiate solutions where a range of interests have to be accommodated, often requiring working with contributors with different areas of expertise.
• Make policy recommendations as necessary to the Management team, and implement any relevant programs that may involve major change or may impact on the portfolio’s operations
• Evaluate existing service provision, keeping abreast of feedback and broader developments in the external marketplace, to ensure appropriate developments and innovative solutions are proposed that consistently enhance and maximise service quality, efficiency and continuity. These should fit with Pilz local strategic priorities.
• Prepare, review and authorise technical reports (to the various accreditation levels as required).
• Represent Pilz values as an Ambassador for Safety, with participation in safety standards groups and key industry bodies, writing and presenting papers at a national and/or global level, as well as representing our region and engaging with the Pilz International Services Group (ISG).
• Ensure a safe work environment is maintained, and all team members comply with company policies, OH&S guidelines, code of conduct & ethical practices.
