Subject: Designation as critical infrastructure supplier.

To our valued Customers and Suppliers,

As the Nation comes together to slow the spread of COVID-19, on March 16th, 2020 the President issued updated Coronavirus Guidance for America. This guidance states that:

“If you work in a critical infrastructure industry, as defined by the Department of Homeland Security, such as healthcare services and pharmaceutical and food supply, you have a special responsibility to maintain your normal work schedule.” (emphasis added)

The federal Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) provides strategic guidance, promotes a national unity of effort, and coordinates the overall federal effort to ensure the security and resilience of the Nation's critical infrastructure.

On March 19, 2020, CISA listed ESSENTIAL CRITICAL INFRASTRUCTURE WORKERS DURING COVID-19 RESPONSE to help State and Local officials as they work to protect their communities, while ensuring continuity of functions critical to public health and safety, as well as economic and national security.  This list includes no less than six critical infrastructure sectors (Chemical Sector, Critical Manufacturing Sector, Energy Sector, Food and Agriculture Sector, Transportation Systems Sector and Water and Wastewater Systems Sector) that rely on Pilz products. The full list is available at https://www.cisa.gov/identifying-critical-infrastructure-during-covid-19. The list is explicitly designed to inform critical infrastructure community decision-making to determine the sectors, sub-sectors, segments, or critical functions that should continue normal operations, appropriately modified to account for Centers for Disease Control (CDC) workforce and customer protection guidance.

Because Pilz is actively providing essential parts, equipment, and services to the six critical sectors listed above we consider our workers to be recognized by the US Department of Homeland Security as WORKERS ESSENTIAL CRITICAL INFRASTRUCTURE DURING COVID-19 RESPONSE by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

During this difficult time, you can count on Pilz to continue to support our customers in the Critical Sectors by shipping products vital to manufacturing and by providing necessary technical support and crucial know-how.

#StrongerThanEver.

Dear Valued Customer,

Like you, we find ourselves in unprecedented times and concerned about the spread of the COVID 19 pandemic. Despite the fact this infection has taken a substantial toll on Europe we wanted to reassure you that our production facilities in Germany, Switzerland and France all remain open and Pilz continues to manufacture product. However, the recent US ban on international travel to the EU has had a detrimental affect on our standard lead times as we have had to make alternative arrangements for product delivery. Pilz is attempting to circumvent this issue by increasing our safety stock of critical components so that we can continue to support you and meet your delivery expectations. To assist us in this effort we are asking you to please consider your needs for the coming months and if at all possible work with your local sales representative, or with our US headquarters directly at info@pilzusa.com, and provide us with a forecast of required components.

We thank you in advance for your consideration of this matter.

Be well,

Mike Beerman, CEO
