Pilz Automation Safety, L.P. is currently seeking an Engineering Intern based in our Canton, MI headquarters. Engineering Interns have opportunities to work with each of our Engineering Services teams on tasks such as: building demo units, creating technical documentation, automating processes, and providing technical support for Pilz products and engineering best practices. This position provides opportunities for hands on learning in both an office environment as well as field experience.
Job Description
- Assist with technical support via phone and email
- Assist in the electrical design of projects from the conceptual phase through design completion
- Assist with modifying and reviewing production drawings related to safety projects
- Apply basic knowledge of commonly used electrical concepts, practices, and codes
- Assist with client presentations, project drawing reviews
- Design and build low-complexity electrical safety panels
- Manage test equipment: shipping, tracking, calibrating, etc.
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- Pursuing an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering field such as Manufacturing, Industrial, Electrical, Robotics Technology or similar
- Basic knowledge of standard electrical engineering techniques, principals, and procedures
- Ability to read electrical/control prints
- Ability to work methodically and analytically; demonstrate critical thinking skills
- Fluent in Microsoft Office
- Willingness to learn Pilz products and procedures
- Self-motivated, well-organized, and team oriented
