Pilz is currently seeking a Project Manager based in our Canton, MI headquarters.  The Project Manager/Project Team Lead reports directly to the Engineering Manager and is responsible for the overall operation of the Project Team and project management. 
 
Duties and Responsibilities (not limited to): 

  • Work with Consulting Team Lead and System Integration Team Lead to coordinate set up and execution of projects
  • Serve as Team Lead for the Project Team
  • Define project tasks
  • Use project tracking software to monitor project hours and expenses 
  • Configure project milestones in project software 
  • Present project status to project team, management, and customers
  • Review contractor quotations to comply with system design requirements to select the best option(s)
  • Manage project budgets
  • Review and approve project time sheets to allocate engineering hours to projects and project expenses
  • Provide summary of project budget to customer
  • Review project orders in SAP for invoicing
  • Develop financial reports to management
  • Provide performance reviews to the project team
  • Other duties as assigned

Travel required approximately 10% (domestic)
 
Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with at least five (5) years’ technical experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience 
  • Experience managing project budgets of $80,000 - $1,000,000
  • Experience managing multiple projects of varying complexity 
  • Ability to apply technical knowledge to business issues
  • Intermediate Microsoft office user including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project 
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal which are effective and concise; listening to others for meaning and intent 
  • Ability to speak in large groups of people
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills
  • A high level of autonomy
  • Ability to accumulate and demonstrate technical knowledge 
  • Willingness to learn Pilz products and procedures
  • Self-motivated, well-organized and team oriented

 
Desired Qualifications:

  • Technical experience should include conveyor systems, factory floor automation, packaging systems, material handling, robotics, and large turn-key manufacturing systems
  • Experience with SAP
  • Experience in providing machine upgrades
