All Eaton sites and divisions require all new and existing equipment purchased by Eaton must comply with all applicable legal requirements and industry standards in the jurisdiction where the equipment will be used. This includes the applicable legal requirements and industry standards related to risk assessment, design (including electrical design), construction, safeguarding performance, energy isolation devices, installation and documentation.

New and existing equipment and related services performed for Eaton must comply with the Eaton safeguarding requirements set forth by the MESH 8.0 Machinery and Work Equipment Safety standard.

Eaton recognizes Pilz as their strategic safety partner and relies on their expertise in machine safety to determine if their new and existing equipment complies with safeguarding specifications. Original equipment manufacturers providing machinery to Eaton must meet MESH 8.0 requirements. Pilz offers a full range of services to assist the OEM in meeting the MESH 8 requirement for Risk Assessment, Safeguarding Performance, Design Verification, and Validation of the Safety System.
