As part of Pilz commitment to safety we undertake PUWER Inspections. PUWER stands for the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations. These regulations came into force in 1998 and were formerly known as PUWER98. Across the UK PUWER is necessary to ensure that all machinery provided for use at work is safe and operated correctly.

The Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations, PUWER, place duties on employers or the self-employed to ensure that equipment and machinery supplied for use at work is suitable for the intended use, safe for use, used by people that have adequate training, is used in accordance with specific requirements and is accompanied by suitable health and safety measures such as protective devices and controls.

It is employers who are required to assess the risks to the health and safety of every individual in their workplace. Full responsibility therefore sits with the employer if anything was to go wrong.

Between March 2021 and March 2022 36.8 million days were lost due to work-related ill health or injury. By carrying out a PUWER inspection you are significantly reducing the risks that accompany workplace accidents and ensuring the safety of those under your care.
