Effectiveness of safeguards through minimum distances

Minimum distances

Minimum distances between the danger zone and safeguard are specified in order to avoid hazards to persons. These are used to avoid crushing parts of the human body.

The minimum distances consist of two components:

  • The walking / hand speed multiplied by the system reaction time and
  • An additional value, which depends on the height of the danger zone and the height of the safeguard. This additional value may be up to 1 200 mm.
