Economical safeguarding of large-scale areas
Safety light barriers for body protection are used predominantly in applications where a large area needs safeguarding. They enable operating ranges of up to 55 m. In combination with mirrors, it is also possible to safeguard multiple sides with just one light barrier. Combined with the right safety controller, you have optimum protection for your employees and your plant.
Barrier-free access guarding on robot cells with light barrier PSENopt II
- Monitors entry into the danger zone
- Robot is shut down as soon as a person passes through the safety light barrier
- Robot is restarted by resetting the controller
Outer area demarcation over multiple sides with safety light barrier PSENopt and two integrated mirror columns
- Monitoring of up to three access sides with just one light barrier pair and two mirror columns
- Reduced wiring work, space requirement and costs
- Deflecting the infrared beams via mirrors expands the protected field
- Also ideal for larger production plants, such as gantry milling machines for metalworking and woodworking

Muting - Increased productivity when transporting material in and out
In your process, is material regularly transferred in and out while production is running? With muting this is possible - without any breaks in production. Pilz offers a variety of options for integration. With the safety light barriers in the PSENopt series, with integrated muting function, or with the safety light barriers PSENopt II, where the muting function can be integrated into the safe small controller PNOZmulti 2. The example below illustrates an L-muting application for safe material outfeed.
Safeguarding of conveyors in parcel centres using the safety light barrier PSENopt with integrated muting.
- X, T and L-muting are possible
- Pre-assembled sets for T and L-muting
- Safety controller only monitors the outputs on the safety light barrier, not the muting function
