NZ MachineSAFE Introduction

Objective

The MachineSAFE Introduction course provides an introduction to machinery safety legislation and standards in New Zealand and how to use them to make machinery safe. It includes the key points of machinery safety including methodology for risk assessments, guarding, safety principles and safety control systems with reference to HSW legislation and New Zealand Standard AS/NZS 4024.1 – 2019 Safety of Machinery.

The course is updated every year to include the latest information on machinery safety standards and HSW legislation for New Zealand.

Contents

At the end of the course participants will:

  • Have an understanding of HSW legislation that applies to plant 
  • Know key aspects of machinery safety with reference to HSW legislation and AS/NZ 4024.1-2014 Safety of machinery
  • Understand the process on how to identify and assess risks on machinery
