Future-proof automation: One-stop Safety and Industrial Security
(Check against delivery)
Networked machines exchange data and form part of complex systems. As a result, safety requirements are also becoming more stringent. It is essential that Safety & Security are considered together.
Current legislation in Europe – in particular the NIS 2 Directive, the Machinery Regulation and the Cyber Resilience Act – shows that Security is no longer optional, but is now a mandatory requirement. So in future, access to the European market for machine builders and the operation of plant and machinery within the EU will be subject to even more comprehensive, and in some cases new requirements for the Safety and Security of machinery.
Products and services for safe automation
As an automation company with Safety as its core competency, Pilz provides comprehensive support to customers when facing these challenges: Firstly, Pilz is adapting its own products to meet the requirements of the new Machinery Regulation and Cyber Resilience Act. Secondly, Pilz supplies automation solutions that enable machine manufacturers and operators to guarantee the Safety and Security of their plants. That's because, in addition to our automation solutions for Functional Safety, we also offer a comprehensive range for Industrial Security.
Pilz has the necessary knowledge and experience in Machinery Safety, which it shares with its customers in the form of services and training. Last year, Pilz launched a multi-stage training programme for Industrial Security. And in mid-2026, Pilz will introduce two modular specialist services worldwide: Security Evaluation of Machinery (SEM) and Security Assessment of Machinery (SAM). Through these services, Pilz provides support with assessing Security risks and identifying vulnerabilities in machinery. Finally, to ensure Industrial Security on machinery, we offer our Identification and Access Management (I.A.M.) system.
Our portfolio focuses on cloud-based and AI technologies, such as those used in our MYZEL Lifecycle Platform. This enables companies to manage their machinery, processes and personnel data centrally and digitally throughout the entire lifecycle of their production facilities. This completes Pilz's portfolio of products and services for a holistic safety concept, covering a machine's entire lifecycle.
Safety & Security must go hand in hand
We are convinced that in future, Safety begins where Safety & Security go hand in hand. As strategic dimensions of equal value, together they protect what matters. Both dimensions are relevant in their own right, but within our holistic understanding of safety, they are always considered together.
With our coordinated range of Safety and Industrial Security, we occupy a unique position on the market.
Together with our customers, we are shaping a world in which Safety is not an option, but is standard: so that people are protected, businesses can grow sustainably, and the long-term future is assured. Safety creates the space that progress needs in order to be sustainable.
Safe automation is a future market. After all, those who build on safe systems can scale more quickly, reduce costs, invest more reliably and innovate more boldly.
And at Pilz, we can meet our customers’ Safety and Industrial Security needs thanks to future technologies, good products and our service.
Safety as a prerequisite for trust and progress
At Pilz, Safety means more than just protection. It is the prerequisite for trust and progress. To ensure that Safety remains reliable in an increasingly complex world, we think of it holistically – because Safety & Security are two sides of the same coin, which must be considered together.
