NZ Safety of Packaging Machinery (1/2 day)

The half day Safety of Packaging Machinery course is for those who have previously attended the MachineSAFE Comprehensive course.

Packaging machinery of some form is used in almost every industry.

The Safety of Packaging Machinery Course is a specialised training course developed to provide the participants with an understanding of packaging machinery safety requirements, to ensure they can meet their obligations relating to New Zealand legislation and standards.
The course will demonstrate how to achieve the required level of safety and analyse risk reduction while still maintaining high productivity with reference to best practice standards including AS/NZS 4024 parts 1, 2 and the Part 3 standards for Packaging Machines.

By the end of the course participants will:

• be aware of the relevant standards and best engineering practise relating to packaging machinery
• understand the typical control measures to reduce risk
• know which safety technologies can be used to create competitive advantage when using packaging machines
• understand different safety strategies and when to apply them
