Safety locking device PSENmlock

Safe interlocking and safe guard locking in one product!

Product picture, safety locking device PSENmlock

The safety locking device PSENmlock offers safe interlocking and safe guard locking for personnel and process protection, up to the highest category PL e.

Safe guard locking is enabled by the dual-channel control on the guard locking device. As such, the switch is particularly suitable for use on machines with a hazardous overrun, which require safe guard locking up to PL d or PL e.

In conjunction with Pilz control technology, the result is a safe, complete solution for monitoring and activating guard locking on guards.

Choose between the PSENmlock versions

You can choose between PSENmlock basic versions for individual wiring and PSENmlock versions for series connection. Both versions are available with power reset or with automatic reset , and with different coding.

Basic versions and versions for series connection

PSENmlock basic versions and versions for series connection

In addition to the PSENmlock basic versions for individual wiring, we offer additional versions for series connection. They enable cost-effective installation thanks to reduced wiring work and series connection of the safe input and output signals.

The combination with Safety Device Diagnostics (SDD) offers simple, comprehensive safety switch diagnostics and thus reduces downtimes. What’s more, SDD enables targeted activation of individual switches or gates without any need for costly individual wiring in the control cabinet. This gives you low-cost series connection and minimises your wiring work.

Versions with power reset and automatic reset

PSENmlock versions with power reset and automatic reset

There are PSENmlock versions with power reset and automatic reset. While the versions with power reset require resetting (i.e. switching off the power supply) after the escape release has been pressed, this is not necessary for the versions with automatic reset. Here, the reset is performed by restoring the escape release and closing the safeguard.

Emergency release cannot be used on versions with automatic reset. The reason for this, according to EN ISO 14119, is that the emergency release must always be reset by means of a tool or another measure (e.g. power reset).

Safety locking device PSENmlock mini - ideal for space-critical applications

Need a safeguard for covers, flaps or small swing gates and sliding gates? With its compact design of just 30x30x159 mm, the safety locking device PSENmlock mini is 60% smaller than the PSENmlock and is therefore ideal for space-critical applications.

Complete your safety gate solution

You can choose between the PSENmlock handle module with integrated escape release and separate handles and escape releases:

PSENmlock handle module with an integrated escape release

Handle module with integrated escape release

The PSENmlock handle module offers you a handle with integrated actuator and integrated escape release - suitable for the safety locking device PSENmlock. The yellow handle (outside) enables the actuator to extend to open or close the gate. Escape release is operated via the red door handle (inside). The handle module is suitable for assembly inside or outside the gate, as well as on right and left-hinged gates. It has a locking insert for up to five locks to prevent the machine from restarting and can be used with the coded and fully coded PSENmlock switches.

Handles can be combined with the safety locking device PSENmlock

Separate handles

Instead of the handle module, you can also combine simple handles with PSENmlock. Our handles for hinged and sliding gates are perfectly tailored to PSENmlock and thus enable an economical, space-saving solution for safety gate guarding.

Two escape release versions can be combined with all versions of PSENmlock

Escape releases

As an optional accessory, the two types of escape release can be combined with all PSENmlock versions:

  • - A bar is used to connect the PSENml escape release directly to the sensor.
  • - The PSENml escape release cordset is mounted on the PSENmlock via a pull-push wire. This enables the installation of the safety locking device and escape release to be physically separate.

Pushbutton unit PITgatebox: Operation of the safety switch and access permission

Combine PSENmlock with the pushbutton unit PITgatebox and the result is additional control and pushbutton elements for simple operation of your safety locking device: from E-STOP pushbuttons and illuminated pushbuttons to key switches and key-operated pushbuttons.

PITgatebox versions with integrated access permission system PITreader are also available. As a result you can guarantee that only authorised staff have access to the plant and are able to execute commands such as stop, unlock, lock or  acknowledge. That way you can prevent unwanted machine downtime or loss of quality.

The safety locking device PSENmlock in use on the machine

With a holding force of up to 7500 N, the safety locking device PSENmlock prevents safeguards from opening unintentionally and offers maximum safety.

Whether it’s integrated into the PSENmlock handle module or used as a separate accessory: thanks to the optional escape release, PSENmlock can also be used on accessible gates to machines with poorly visible areas. The escape release is integrated directly into the handle with the PSENmlock door handle module. In contrast, the remote escape release offers the option of fitting the safety gate switch in a location that’s inaccessible to the operator, meaning your employees have optimum protection in the event of danger.
