2025, a year in review – Digital safety for human and machine

A year full of challenges, changes but valuable encounters too is behind us. For us, the exhibitions were not just a highlight, but also a springboard for new ideas and partnerships. Together we have expanded our network and implemented projects successfully - a foundation on which we can look to the coming year with confidence.

This year we designed our exhibition presence in Hannover differently from usual. With a smaller stand and a clear focus on the hydrogen industry, we were represented in the Hydrogen + Fuel Cells Europe Hall, presenting safe solutions related to hydrogen. The fields of Functional Safety and Industrial Security took centre stage.

This autumn we were represented for the second time at the Hydrogen Technology World Expo - Europe's largest leading trade fair for hydrogen technologies - in Hamburg. Here we were able to present our safe automation solutions for the hydrogen industry. Highlights of our exhibition presence included safe monitoring and control of hydrogen plants, as well as advice on the directive ISO 22734, directly on the exhibition model.

As every year, before the Advent season was upon us, it was time for SPS in Nuremberg. There we presented a wide range of safe automation solutions for industry. The absolute highlight of our exhibition presence was the premiere of the MYZEL Lifecycle Platform, a digital platform for safe, networked and efficient management of the machine lifecycle and the safety of human and machine.

The first digital Pilz product, the MYZEL Lifecyle Platform

This year was a milestone for Pilz, as we launched our first digital platform, the MYZEL Lifecycle Platform. In November, MYZEL celebrated its premiere as an absolute highlight at SPS in Nuremberg. MYZEL is a digital platform that maps the entire lifecycle of your machinery safely and efficiently, makes data available in a structured manner, and ensures legal compliance, productivity, and the safety of human and machine.

Another milestone this year was the introduction of the IO-Link Safety Master PDP67. The module combines IO-Link and IO-Link Safety in one device and enables the transfer of safety-related and standard signals. It is the first product of this type to be both TÜV and UL certified and therefore also be approved for the North American market. This development represents an important step towards networked, safe automation solutions.

Pilz’s inclusion in the book “The Secrets of German Family Businesses” was one of this year’s highlights. It presents 50 family businesses that represent the diversity and strength of the German economy. Pilz demonstrates how family businesses combine tradition and future. A long-term approach and values go hand in hand with innovation and change. We are proud to be part of this publication and thus contribute to the success story of German family entrepreneurship.

For decades, we have stood for safety for human, machine and environment worldwide. In 2025, several of our subsidiaries around the world celebrated significant anniversaries.

• Pilz Belgium celebrated its 30th anniversary.
• Pilz Slovakia celebrated 10 years in business.
• Pilz Netherlands were looking back on 35 years.
