Interlocking device

Interlocking devices, such as safety switches for example, are fitted to movable guards. Thanks to the interlocking devices, execution of a hazardous machine function is prevented after the safety gates are opened. Thanks to the safety switch, the safety gate will also stay closed for as long as the operator is at risk from the hazardous movement.

Interlocking devices trigger the following functions in the safe control system:

  • Stop command is triggered if the safety gate is opened.
  • Hazardous machine functions cannot be executed until the safety gate is closed. A separate start command is required in order to execute the hazardous machine functions.
  • Hazardous machine functions cannot be executed while the safety gate is open.
