Meet our team of trainers:

Holger Bode

Holger Bode

Holger Bode is responsible for the planning of press upgrades and new plant within the Presses working group at Pilz GmbH & Co. KG. Responsibilities include the development of full conversion measures and the production of control concepts, hazard assessments, risk analyses and safety concepts. He is also the Quality Manager of the accredited Pilz inspection body and the Fire Prevention Officer at Pilz. He shares his many years of international practical experience as a mechanical engineer in a variety of Pilz seminars spanning areas such as the inspection of optoelectronic protective devices and safe mechanical design.

Stefan Buntz

Stefan Buntz

Stefan Buntz completed his training as an industrial electronics technician specialising in production technology. He then worked in the automotive industry as an electronics technician for robotics and painting systems. He gained valuable experience in the installation and customisation of complex systems. As a team leader, he specialised in maintenance and production process technology and is an expert in relocating, commissioning, converting and accepting production systems. He is committed to explaining complex content in a comprehensible manner and designs his training courses to be practical and application-oriented.

Harald Elsäßer

Harald Elsäßer

Harald Elsäßer is a trainer for the Machinery Directive and Standards series of seminars. He also trains delegates in the Certified Machinery Safety Experts course. During his own training as a state-approved electrical engineer and industrial management expert and his activities as a consultant in Customer Support, he has been able to gain considerable practical experience in the tailor-made implementation of customer projects in particular. He is eager to teach delegates how to apply safety-related directives and standards correctly so that users are protected from accidents and companies can operate efficiently.

Alexander Struss

Alexander Struss

Alexander Struß completed an apprenticeship as an electronics and communication technician at Deutsche Telekom AG and studied telecommunications at the Hannover University of Applied Sciences. After graduating, he worked in software development for embedded systems in wireless technology and later became a specialist in mechanical engineering, lifts and nuclear technology at TÜV Nord. At Pilz he works as a consultant and trainer in the Pilz Academy, focussing on Machinery Safety and Functional Safety. He is committed to teaching delegates how to apply safety-related directives and standards correctly, so as to avoid accidents and guarantee efficient work processes.

Matthias Wimmer

Matthias Wimmer

Matthias Wimmer has been an expert in safety technology and the associated regulations at national, European and international level for over 25 years. He is a long-standing member of international standards committees, including ISO 13849, and has experience of working at a notified body. Certified as a CMSE, CEFS, CESA (TÜV Nord) and CSE (TÜV Saarland), at Pilz he specialises in the interpretation of standards, their preparation for application, plus the planning and implementation of complex customer projects in functional safety and the implementation of European directives in mechanical engineering. He takes great pleasure in sharing this expertise in his training sessions.

Rebecca Ehe

Rebecca Ehe

Rebecca Ehe successfully completed her dual course of study in electrical engineering at Pilz GmbH & Co. KG in 2020, focussing on automation. Since then, she has been advising international colleagues on application issues, the various challenges regarding the correct use of products, and other technical questions. In doing so, she works very closely with development, as well as product and quality management. From the very start she has been fascinated in particular by the issue of Security. She takes great pleasure in passing on her in-depth knowledge and experience to the seminar delegates.

Bernd Maier

Bernd Maier

Following his training as a precision electronics technician, Bernd Maier completed a degree in automation technology. Drawing upon his extensive experience in programming and commissioning (IBN) of safety controllers in the automotive, press and railway industries, he has developed a comprehensive skill set that encompasses the entire process, from design to validation. At Pilz, he is responsible for the TÜV-certified FSM process for engineering projects, which is used worldwide at Pilz. In his capacity as a trainer, he imparts the requirements of directives and standards for machinery safety, leveraging his extensive practical experience."

Simon Nutz

Simon Nutz

Simon Nutz has successfully completed his training as a mechatronics engineer at Pilz GmbH & Co. KG. He then continued training to qualify as a certified mechanical engineer. Since 2021, he has been implementing technical services at Pilz, focussing on Security. These include evaluation, consulting and holistic support of customer projects for safeguarding plant and machinery. Sharing his knowledge in practical terms and passing on his wide-ranging experience to seminar delegates are particularly important to him and give him so much pleasure.

Ken de Leon

Ken de Leon

Ken de Leon completed his training as a communications electronics specialist at Pilz GmbH & Co. KG. He then attended technical college and qualified as a state-approved electrical engineer. He has been working for the Training and Education department at Pilz ever since, focussing on product training. He instructs in programmable controllers such as PNOZmulti, PSS 4000 and the basics of safety technology. During training, he is happy to be able to pass on his knowledge to others and to exchange views with seminar delegates.

Pirmin Stahl

Pirmin Stahl

Pirmin Stahl began his training as a mechatronics engineer directly at Pilz GmbH & Co. KG. Then he gained 18 months’ professional experience in engineering as a hardware designer, focussing on EPLAN. He then completed further training as a technician in the field of electrical engineering, focussing on energy and automation technology. Since the end of 2021 he has been working as an applications engineer. In this role, he advises customers, technical groups and sales on the implementation of applications for presses and burners. His tasks also include engineering for customer projects and carrying out product training for PNOZmulti. He is committed to sharing his knowledge and inspires delegates to advance their knowledge.

Torsten Pusch

Torsten Pusch

Torsten Pusch played a key role in setting up the inspection body at Pilz GmbH & Co. KG and collected relevant experience as an application engineer in the programming of safety controllers and HMI systems. His activities in the Customer Support department are predominantly to do with consulting. He provides support in all processes involved in assessing conformity with the Machinery Directive. He is keen to ensure that seminar delegates know how to make optimum use of innovative safety technology in order to prevent accidents, while at the same time enabling a high level of machine efficiency.
