Pilz at “all about automation” 2023 in Hamburg, Friedrichshafen and Heilbronn - Machinery safety: managing permissions centrally

How can users manage individual permissions for plant and machinery simply and centrally? Experts from Pilz will answer this and other questions relating to safe access permission management at the regional industrial automation exhibitions “all about automation” in Hamburg (25 and 26 January 2023), Friedrichshafen (7 and 8 March 2023) and Heilbronn (10 and 11 May 2023).

The focus of Pilz's exhibition presence: The digital access permission system PITreader with RFID technology, which consists of a reader unit with the corresponding transponder keys. Users receive the machine enable suited to their individual role on their RFID transponder. They use it to authorise themselves on the safety gate, to gain access to a plant or machine. If a company uses several PITreader units, they are organised using the software tool User Authentication Service (UAS). This has a central authorisation database and enables the connection between a user management software within the company and PITreader. Using an exhibition model, Pilz experts show how administrators maintain an overview and so save time, even when using multiple PITreader units.

Talk Lounge meeting place: “What constitutes a substantial modification?”
In Hamburg and Friedrichshafen, speakers from Pilz will use their presentation in the Talk Lounge to explain how to assess a substantial modification during a retrofit. Interested visitors will learn when the operator becomes the manufacturer. That's because, when a machine is converted, the measures that have been taken must be evaluated. If it turns out that the machine has undergone a substantial modification, then it must be assessed as a new machine in accordance with the Product Safety Act (ProdSG). That means: the requirements for placing the machine on the market (conformity assessment procedure) must be met.

In Heilbronn, experts from Pilz will be answering the question regarding the most important changes that arise for machine manufacturers and operators as a result of the new Machinery Regulation. The series of presentations is free for visitors.
