What exactly does an industrial clerk do?
Industrial clerks are genuine all-rounders. They plan and work on business issues in all commercial departments of the company. In purchasing, they compare quotations, talk to suppliers and manage the scheduling of goods. Their areas of responsibility in sales include the preparation of costings and quotations, as well as contact with customers. Industrial clerks who work in finance will process, book and check payment transactions. In the human resources department, they are involved in personnel recruitment and selection, as well as dealing with personnel marketing and development.
Which departments will an apprentice pass through during the course of their training?
During the course of your three-year apprenticeship you will pass through numerous departments, including purchasing, sales, Customer Support International, logistics, finance, and human resources. In doing so you will get to know all the processes and tasks of the individual departments, and how they interact.
