Machinery Directive Incorporating CE Marking

This course emphasizes that CE Marking means not only satisfying the Machinery Directive but also meeting the requirements of all the directives applicable to the machinery.

Objective
CE marking is a documented physical examination and inspection of a machine, process or piece of equipment carried out under the legislative framework of the EU. The New Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC became applicable on 29 December 2009, superseding the old Machinery Directive 98/37/EC. Personnel putting new machinery on the market or upgrading existing machinery need a fundamental understanding of the CE marking process considering the new Machinery Directive. CE Marking means not only satisfying the Machinery Directive but also meeting the requirements of all the directives applicable to the machinery.

Agenda
By the end of the course the participants will

  • Know how to determine the scope of machinery that is applicable to CE Marking legislation
  • Be aware of the role of manufacturers, importers, designers etc. of machinery with regards to CE marking
