Where can I find the current guide to the application of the Machinery Directive and who is it aimed at specifically?

Application of the new Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC has been mandatory since December 2009. During the debate on the revised Machinery Directive in the Council and in the European Parliament, the Commission agreed to draw up a new guide to the application of this directive.

The guide is aimed at anyone concerned with the application of the Machinery Directive, such as manufacturers, distributors and importers of machinery, for example. It provides support with the consistent interpretation and application of the Machinery Directive throughout Europe and explains the resulting concepts and requirements. The guide also contains information on other EU regulations that are connected to the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC.

The German edition of the "Guide to Application of the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC - 2nd Edition 2010" was agreed with Austria and Switzerland and has been available since 2011.
