Under the exhibition slogan “Be safe and secure”, at the international exhibition SPS Smart Production Solutions (Nuremberg, 8-10 November 2022), Pilz will be focusing on automation solutions that cover both safety and industrial security on plant and machinery. Focus in terms of content: solutions for access management and safeguarding of mobile machinery and its danger zones.

Maintenance safeguarding “key in pocket” system from Pilz protects against restart and tampering - safe and secure plant maintenance

The new maintenance safeguarding “key-in-pocket” system from Pilz protects operators from an unauthorised machine restart, allowing maintenance work to be carried out safely. Digital maintenance safeguarding is based on the access permission system PITreader and guarantees safety and industrial security: only authorised persons can access the plant or machine during the maintenance process – tampering and misuse are excluded.

Range of safe, configurable small controllers PNOZmulti 2 with new, high-performance standalone base unit - Compact and economical basic power!

In the range of safe configurable small controllers PNOZmulti 2 from Pilz, the new standalone base unit PNOZ m C0 is now available. The extremely compact base unit is just 22.5 mm wide and monitors up to four safety functions on machines. Depending on the application, it can be used to implement safety requirements up to the highest category PL (performance level) e or SIL CL 3. As such, the new base unit enables high productivity on smaller machines. As a result, PNOZ m C0 is a safe, high-performance and highly economical solution for small machines in different industries and application areas, such as packaging, on robot cells or in the food and beverage sector, for instance.

Pilz is expanding its offer for safe applications of automated guided vehicle systems - Efficient manager for safe intralogistics

Pilz is expanding its offer for the safe use of automated guided vehicle systems (AGVS): In cooperation with NAiSE GmbH, the expert for material flow automation, the automation company Pilz offers the world's first traffic and order management software for all participants in intralogistics – for humans as well as transport systems. Thanks to precise, real-time localisation, NAiSE Traffic can be used to implement AGVS applications safely and efficiently. The aim: higher productivity in intralogistics.

With “Machinery Safety Evaluation” (MSE), the automation expert Pilz offers a new service to evaluate the machinery safety of existing machines. Operators obtain a simple, fast overview of the safety and conformity status of their machines via a dashboard. As a result, Pilz is providing a particularly efficient addition to the comprehensive risk assessment or plant assessment in its services package.
