EMC Directive

EMC Directive

When networking of plants is increasing and the use of electrical devices in the machine environment is on the rise, EMC - a directive todetermine the electromagnetic emission of devices continues to be of great importance. Electrical devices can disrupt the function of other devices or plants, but that's not all. If electromagnetic emission is not controlled, such devices can also present a considerable safety risk for man and machine.

That's why the EMC Directive regulates the electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) of all devices that are put into service or placed on the market.

The EMC Directive can be found on the homepage of the European Commission.

Official title of the EMC Directive

DIRECTIVE 2014/30/EU OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT AND OF THE COUNCIL of 26 February 2014 on the harmonisation of the laws of the Member States relating to electromagnetic compatibility (recast).
