Brexit – Impact on machinery safety

After 47 years of membership, Great Britain has left the European Union. The United Kingdom left the European Union on 1 February 2020. There was a transitional period until the end of 2020. There were far-reaching changes after 31 December 2020. Here’s an overview of the range of information available on machinery safety.

CE mark and UKCA mark continue in parallel

On 1 August 2023, the British government announced that it shall remain possible to import defined products with a CE mark indefinitely.

So as a manufacturer, you still have the choice: products on the British government’s list, such as machinery and electronic components, can be imported into the UK with a CE mark or a UKCA mark.
