Brexit - Postponement of mandatory UKCA marking for machinery

Mandatory UKCA marking for machinery has been postponed for a year. Now it will not come into force until 1 January 2023.

On 24 August 2021 the UK government announced an extension to the deadline for converting from the CE mark to the UKCA mark. This means that goods and their packaging or accompanying documents, which are exported from the EU to the UK, do not need to be provided with the UKCA mark until the 1 January 2023. Previously the deadline had been set to 1 January 2022. From 1 January 2024, the product/machine itself or nameplate must also carry the UKCA mark.

We can provide support when placing plant and machinery on and from the UK market and can advise you on all the requirements resulting from the changes to this mandatory marking.
