The new ATEX Directive 2014/34/EU comes into force on 20 April 2016.
Amendment to the ATEX Directive
ATEX stands for ATmosphère EXplosibles (explosive atmospheres). Manufacturers and operators are bound by two central directives that are intended to prevent explosions and hence protect people, the environment and assets. From today, 20 April 2016, manufacturers are only allowed to offer products that comply with the new ATEX Directive 2014/34/EU.
