We frequently work with CNC laser systems and are unsure what's allowed. For example, radiation protection measures must be suspended to commission the laser. Even the safety enclosure for the servo axes must be opened for adjustment. How can we reconcile this with the requirements of the MD? What safety precautions can/must we take?
Commissioning is a life phase that must be considered in the risk assessment. Some of the safety functions are not yet implemented/installed when commissioning.
There is no list of which safety functions may and may not be deactivated during commissioning. If safety functions are not yet in place or are temporarily inactive, additional measures must be taken. These are plant-specific, however, and cannot be generally defined from afar.
