Industrial Transformation – Making the Difference

This is the lead theme for the HANNOVER MESSE from 17-21 April 2023, which will again focus on high-tech and innovative solutions for overcoming global industrial challenges.

This year Pilz will provide a varied programme related to "Safety and Industrial Security”, with an expert panel. What does the future hold for machinery safety? What are the new features of the revised ISO 13849-1? What are the implications of the new EU Machinery Regulation? We will be focusing on our comprehensive range of consulting, engineering und training services, covering the plant and machinery lifecycle.

Rounding off our presence in Hall 9, Stand D17 will be our Pilz control systems as the key to individually adaptable processes, our solutions for safe access management, and safe automation of automated guided vehicle systems.

A very special Hannover Messe this year - 75 years of Pilz

Values. Create. Future.

Safe automation has a name: Pilz. Founded in 1948, the family business has continuously transformed itself: from a glass-blowing business to an electronics company, to an automation company and digitiser. All those times have this in common: the joy of innovation and a value-oriented togetherness based on trust, passion and creativity. In this way, Pilz creates safety for human, machine and the environment.

Celebrate this special event with us in Hannover!

Automation solutions for safety and security on plant and machinery

Automation solutions for Identification and Access Management

At the trade fair, Pilz will be showing new additions for Identification and Access Management (I.A.M.). The portfolio offers a complete range of products, solutions and software for comprehensive protection of your staff and optimum safeguarding of your plant and machinery: from simple authentication to complex access permissions and access management, through to safe operating mode selection, maintenance safeguarding and safeguarding of data and networks. You get safety and security in one system!

However, the most secure access to your plant and machinery is worthless if an attacker from outside can penetrate your control network. With the SecurityBridge firewall, we are presenting a product that also protects industrial automation networks from tampering and unauthorised access from outside.

Safe automation with the Pilz safety controllers myPNOZ and PNOZmulti 2

For monitoring up to 16 safety functions, in Hannover we will be presenting the world’s first modular safety relay myPNOZ. The new, modular safety relay myPNOZ is produced individually in batch size 1, tailor-made to your requirements. We will demonstrate on site how to use the myPNOZ Creator to build a needs-based safety solution from a variety of options. With no programming knowledge whatsoever!

Whether as a standalone unit for small machines with up to four safety functions or for large, interlinked plants – in conjunction with safe sensor and actuator technology, the configurable safe small controllers PNOZmulti 2 always offer the right solution for your automation task!

We make your automated guided vehicle system (AGVS) safe! In every way possible!

Safe automation of AGVS

On the interactive exhibition model, you can experience how an automated guided vehicle system (AGVS) is not only automated safely, but can also be applied safely and above all productively in intralogistics, taking into account all the spatial and infrastructural conditions. From development of the system concept in the design phase, to the optimum automation solution and beyond to commissioning and specific training, our experts will provide advice and support for the implementation of safe applications. As such it meets the requirements of ISO 3691-4 and also guarantees productivity in operation.

The traffic and order management software NAiSE Traffic, for all participants in intralogistics, completes the offer. In cooperation with NAiSE GmbH, the expert for material flow automation, traffic involving all parties – human, automated guided vehicle systems AGVS and autonomous mobile robots – is coordinated and controlled via sensor infrastructure and intelligent, manufacturer-independent communication in real-time. As a result, operators have a complete material flow automation solution. Congestion, bottlenecks, shortages or accidents are avoided. This increases safety and optimises traffic control – for greater transparency, efficiency and productivity.

Functional safety standards – Changes to ISO 13849-1

ISO 13849-1 has been revised. Plant and machine builders should re-assess existing safety concepts with regard to the changed risk classification in the standards. Learn what effects this has on the design of safety-related control systems.

Validation – the right level to suit every requirement

Only with validation can you determine whether the required measures for risk reduction at the machine have been verifiably and correctly implemented! But what depth of validation is necessary and useful? Pilz introduces the new validation system that comprises three individual levels – for maximum efficiency and perfectly tailored to your needs!

Is my machine really safe? – An efficient overview

Has some of your machinery – whether purchased new or used – been in use for a while? This brief presentation explains how the Pilz Machinery Safety Evaluation service perfectly supports you with cost-efficient evaluation, a set of measures, a priority list and recommended actions!

No Safety without Security?

Buzzwords such as Industrial Security, Cyber Resilience Act and Security by Design are on everyone’s lips, even in automation. But what exactly is it all about? Why is security so important and which standards, requirements and measures must be taken into consideration in automation? Learn more about the topic of Security in Automation in this brief presentation!

Machinery Directive becomes Machinery Regulation

Machinery safety is the basis for effective, accident-free cooperation between human and machine. New approaches and issues, such as digitisation for example, require ongoing development of the currently valid directive. Pilz explains which changes are planned and demonstrates where the journey may lead.
