Pilz Ireland presents at 23rd EURAS Annual Standardisation Conference
We were delighted that Mary O'Connell, Pilz QHS Manager was asked to present at the 23rd EURAS (European Academy for Standardisation) Annual Standardisation Conference recently. Held at DCU in Dublin, Ireland, the theme for this year’s conference was "Standards for a Smarter Future" and the conference was co-organised by the National Standards Authority of Ireland (NSAI)
Mary participated in a panel discussion on corporate standardisation management, where she discussed the "smart digital future" where standards will be critical in order to ensure interoperability, security and safety.
Other presentations at the event focused on how standards will play a key role in ensuring a smarter future for all European businesses and citizens. The EU has prioritised 5 ICT areas for standardisation – Cybersecurity, 5G, IoT, Cloud and Big Data (in the context of Digital Single Market) but other areas have also become a focus area for international standards development, including: Additive Manufacturing, Artificial Intelligence, Robotics and Augmented/Virtual Reality.
‘Digital Transformation’ of industries and businesses across all sectors is a top priority for governments and companies across Europe and worldwide.
