Project Manager

Role: Permanent

The Role

Reporting to the Technical Director, you will work with a team of talented international professionals in a dynamic, challenging and fast paced environment where customer focus is essential, a non hierarchical approach is the norm; and where your primary role will be to project manage, coordinate and lead external and internal projects to address specific customer needs and market opportunities. You will coordinate local and international resources to achieve the project goals having a clear understanding of the necessary technical approach, quality of deliverables, and project budget targets. 

Location: The position will be based at our Irish headquarters in Cork but may require work at customer sites nationally or internationally from time to time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the preparation and delivery of international projects for our customers worldwide, coordinating local and international Pilz Resources.    
  • Contribute to the development of suitable project management structures for international projects (automation systems, electrical/pneumatic system, technical consultancy projects, etc.).
  • Contribute to the development of new innovative industrial services solutions to meet our customers’ needs worldwide – automation, and electrical/pneumatic systems.
  • Plan and lead the roll out of new or enhanced engineering services to the Pilz group through our company network.
  • Enhance, refine or develop services methodologies, templates, reports, tools and internal content for our services projects.
  • Participate in multi-disciplinary teams to provide systems solutions to current and future business needs.

The International Service Group is headquartered in Cork and has responsibility for the development of the company’s services business internationally. This includes but is not limited to, the provision of organisational and technical support to all Pilz locations worldwide; the management of the company’s services portfolio, international co-operation with key customers; and the coordination and delivery of international projects.
To satisfy sustained and increasing demands in the International Services Group (ISG), we have the opportunity for a Project Manager.

The Person

You will be self organised, strongly motivated, energetic and upbeat; take a logical and systematic approach to problem solving; be a perfectionist who strives for timely completion of projects; have the ability to prioritise the urgency of multiple requests and then take charge of these to meet deadlines; and you have:

Essential:

  • 2+ Years’ experience in the project management of engineering projects in industrial, manufacturing, environments or consultancy / services project.
  • Technical Experience in one or more of the following areas: Industrial applications involving electrical and/or mechanical installation and commissioning teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both oral and written.
  • Proven ability to project manage and lead technical projects to successful conclusion.
  • Knowledge and experience in the design and installation of safety systems and/or technical issues related to some machine elements including: Electrical Control, AC/DC Motors, Inverters, Drives, Pneumatics, Hydraulics. Such experience may include installation, commissioning, maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • The ability to work on own initiative and to strict deadlines.
  • A relevant degree in engineering preferably automation / electrical or related discipline.

An Advantage:

  • Ideally, a recognised post-graduate safety qualification at either Diploma or Masters level.
