What do the following mean: overall check sum, program check sum and data check sum, in reference to the CRC check sum?

  • Checksum safe: This check sum is formed from the safety-related data. Safety-related data includes hardware modules, elements, etc. Non-safety-related data includes project texts and diagnostic texts, for example.
  • Checksum safe without Level 3: This check sum is formed from the safety-related data. Data that can only be modified via password level 3 is excluded.
  • Checksum Level 3: This check sum is formed from data that can only be modified via password level 3.
  • Overall project checksum: Check sum for the overall project. This check sum is formed from both safety and non-safety-related data.
  • Check sum diagnostic texts: This check sum is formed from data from the user-defined diagnostic texts.
