The term "(Ethernet) interface" is used as the generic term for the Ethernet communications device on a PSS-range programmable safety system.

On modular PSS-range programmable safety systems, this corresponds to the communications module for Ethernet.
On Ethernet-compatible compact programmable safety systems from the PSS-range, this corresponds to the integrated communications device for Ethernet.
