You can connect the configurable safe small controllers PNOZmulti 2 to all common fieldbus and Ethernet systems. So connection to the widest range of operational controllers is guaranteed. The communication modules are used to transfer diagnostic and status information to a higher level controller.

PNOZmulti 2 is a safe small controller with an extensive range of connection options. It is refreshingly easy to configure the inputs and outputs on the fieldbus module in the software tool PNOZmulti Configurator. Use the communication and fieldbus modules to read diagnostic data and to set virtual inputs and outputs for automation functions.

If PNOZmulti needs to be connected to a different fieldbus system, that's easy to do without any program changes. You can simply exchange one fieldbus module for another suitable one. Select the diagnostic solution PVIS by clicking in the software tool PNOZmulti Configurator. You can easily integrate your individual customised texts.

For visualisation you can rely on the web-based visualisation software PASvisu, which offers the perfect automation solution in conjunction with the operator terminals PMIvisu.

Seamless integration of the safety concept into the machine concept = efficient production

To transfer both control and safety-related information, use EtherCAT in combination with the safe protocol Safety-over-EtherCAT FSoE (= FailSafe over EtherCAT), which transfers safety-related and non-safety-related information on the same channel. EtherCAT is an open industrial Ethernet protocol. The safe fieldbus module PNOZ m EF EtherCAT FSoE in conjunction with the base unit PNOZ m B1 can be used as FSoE Master, FSoE Slave, and also EtherCAT Slave on your plant or machine – depending on the requirement. This means you can implement safe plant structures with a “one-cable solution” at fieldbus level. Configuration is conveniently carried out in the software tool PNOZmulti Configurator from Version 11.3. Here you can define the necessary Slaves in a list view, for example. Up to 4 Master-Master and up to 60 Master-Slave connections are available.

With PNOZmulti 2 as FSoE Master, it is easy to implement safety-related networking with the safe radar sensor PSENradar and safe drive technology PMC – both with FSoE functionality. Additional FSoE-capable products can also be incorporated if necessary.

Safe communication via SafetyNET p

You can link up to 16 PNOZmulti 2 base units via the safe real-time Ethernet SafetyNET p. Use the safe expansion module PNOZ m EF SafetyNET to do this! In the first step a link is available via linear topology. 32-bit data is exchanged via RTFL, enabling short cycle times in your application. A clearly structured data interface where the inputs are configured with 128 bit and the outputs with 32 bit characterises the data link.

The software tool PNOZmulti Network Editor is used to configure a SafetyNET p network and for project linking. It is called up directly from the PNOZmulti Configurator and can link variables from the input and output image of PNOZmulti projects. Once uploaded into the PNOZmulti systems, the SafetyNET p network is ready to use.

Use the safe expansion module PNOZ m EF SafetyNET for each base unit (PNOZ m B0 or B1). The base units can be combined as required. PNOZmulti and PNOZmulti Mini base units can also be incorporated into the network via a Multi Link expansion module.
