Pilz: New versions of the safety bolt PSENbolt in conjunction with the mechanical safety gate system PSENmech with guard locking - stopping manipulation

New versions of the safety bolt PSENbolt from Pilz are now available for combination with the mechanical safety gate system PSENmech with guard locking: users can choose between standard versions and versions with a key. The safe complete solution consists of a mechanical bolt, handle and the new flexible, combinable safety switch. As such it represents a more flexible, cost-effective safety gate solution for personal and process protection.

Standard versions are available along with versions with an integrated key. Some of these can also have an added escape release. The versions with integrated key enable the bolt to be locked in the open position, when someone needs to access the plant for maintenance purposes for example. In this case, nobody else can close the gate from the outside and the machine cannot be restarted. As a result, the machine is prevented from starting up unintentionally. So versions with an integrated key provide increased safety on the plant.

Maximum safety for high efficiency
In combination with the safety gate system PSENmech with guard locking, PSENbolt achieves safe interlocking and safe guard locking up to PL d of EN/ISO 13849-1 or SIL CL 2 of EN/IEC 62061. If the coded safety switch PSENcode is added to the solution, safety gate monitoring up to the highest category PL e of EN/ISO 13849-1 or SIL CL 3 of EN/IEC 62061 is guaranteed. In this combination the safety bolt PSENbolt guarantees that the highest requirements for protection against defeat and manipulation are met. Users benefit from high availability, so making the plant cost-effective.

Strong bolt
The PSENbolt versions can be used in numerous industries and applications. In conjunction with the mechanical safety gate system PSENmech with guard locking they guarantee to protect human and machine in the plastics industry, automotive industry, packaging industry and pulp and paper industry, for example. They offer a mechanical solution for monitoring safety gates that are difficult to adjust or are exposed to heavy vibration.

Pre-assembled = less effort
The safety bolt PSENbolt combines a mechanical bolt, handle and flexible, combinable safety switch, such as PSENmech with guard locking for example. This removes the need for expensive in-house engineering and significantly reduces development and installation work.
In conjunction with the safety relay PNOZsigma or the configurable safe small controllers PNOZmulti 2, Pilz offers a complete, economical one-stop solution.
