Pilz recognised as one of Germany's most innovative companies of 2020

For the first time this year, Capital magazine worked with data analysts Statista to select the most innovative companies in Germany

A total of 1,781 companies of a particularly innovative nature and based in Germany were assessed.

The panel of experts, consisting of representatives from award-winning innovative companies and other members of Statista’s “Expert Circle” assessed companies in their own industry. Those interviewed recommended companies that stood out for their intelligent products or services. Advanced processes or an innovation-friendly business culture were also emphasised in the survey. In addition, the respondents were able to indicate the areas of innovation in which they would rate a company particularly highly.

Pilz has proved its drive for innovation many times over in its more than 70-year history: with products such as the Pilz emergency stop relay PNOZ, the world's first safe programmable controller PSS 3000 or the first safe 3D camera system, SafetyEYE. “The drive for innovation is fixed in our DNA” says Managing Director Susanne Kunschert, describing the business culture.

For example, Pilz invests more than 20% of turnover into research and development.

Here is a look back at all of Pilz’s milestones as well as an outlook towards the digital future.
