Some tools used on press brakes cannot be safeguarded using a conventional solution on account of their size. For in accordance with the standard EN12622, each bending line must be protected by a protected field 15 mm in advance, on the operator side. A requirement for complying with this normative specification is that the tool is completely within the protection system's field of vision.
PSENvip with classification of various tool sizes
With the new special tools function certified by TÜV Nord, classification of various tool sizes is now available for PSENvip: while protection in tool class 1 is in compliance with the standards, with tools of class 2 and 3 the camera image can only partially detect the tool on account of its size.
PSENvip safely monitors large tool shapes
PSENvip is able to monitor even large tool shapes safely by raising the switchover point or changing the speed when descending towards the plate. The camera-based protection and measuring system checks the tool contour and assigns it to tool class 1, 2 or 3. The established class is communicated to the control system, which then issues enables for class 2 and 3 tools and monitors the switchover points defined via the risk analysis.
All types of PSENvip can be used on presses with large tools, whether it's the base version with PNOZmulti, the productive version PSS 4000 or a version with bending angle measurement.
