The PNOZsigma product range monitors safety functions such as E-STOP, safety gates, light curtains and two-hand controls, using base units. Contact expander modules provide additional contacts where necessary.
We have added two contact expander modules to the PNOZsigma range: PNOZ s7.1 and PNOZ s7.2. The contact expander modules can be combined with any PNOZsigma base unit. When the new PNOZ s7.1 is used in conjunction with the PNOZ s7.2, the number of safety contacts can be expanded almost without limit. No wiring is involved, simply "click" in via a plug connection. PNOZ s7.1 is just 17.5 mm wide but has three safety contacts, while PNOZ s7.2 has four safety contacts plus one auxiliary contact. They can be combined at any time with other expander modules such as the PNOZ s8, PNOZ s9 or PNOZ s11.
The new contact expander modules provide the following benefits:
- Fast commissioning: just “click” to expand the contacts via a plug-in connection
- Reduced wiring: through plug-in connection terminals
- More easily maintained: thanks to the connection technology, individual units can be removed or added at any time
- Fewer unit types to keep in stock: thanks to selectable operating modes and timer functions
- No additional accessories: everything is supplied with the unit
- Saves space in the control cabinet: thanks to narrow housing widths
